First, a gentle reminder that the Walt Disney World Summer Meal Deal promotion that I blogged about last month is expiring on February 29th! If you are planning on adding a Walt Disney World vacation to your ALA Orlando time, now is the time to book to take advantage of a pretty decent promotion.
Second, for those of you who want to add Harry Potter to your Florida experience, there is a convention ticket available for Universal Orlando and it can be booked online. From the Universal Orlando Convention page, choose Universal Orlando Tickets from the menu. You’ll see two options for tickets but note that the After 2:00 PM ticket is blocked out during the summer so it is not available to ALA attendees. The After 4 PM ticket is available for $79.99. This is a 1-day base ticket (so no Hogwarts Express between the parks for you) but it does include a CityWalk Party Pass (which includes the cover charges for several CityWalk clubs). In June, the two theme parks are open until 10 PM and the CityWalk clubs are open until 2 AM. You must show your conference badge and ID when you enter the park with the ticket and the ticket can only be used by conference attendees (so other family members or non-ALA friends will pay full admission). If you have friends or family who will be visiting Universal during the day, this is a great way for you to join them when you are finished for the day!
There is a twilight park-to-park ticket also available (click on the Park to Park Ticket link). The cost is $119.99 but if you’re spending an evening in Universal to experience Harry Potter, you might as well purchase the park-to-park ticket so that you can see both Hogwarts and Diagon Alley as well as riding the Hogwarts Express between the two parks.
